BuddyPress 1.0 RC-2 Now Available
April 23, 2009 in News
BuddyPress version 1.0 RC-2 has now been tagged and made available for download.
This release requires version 2.7.1 of WordPress MU, but for good reason. It is now possible to automatically download, install and upgrade BuddyPress from within the WordPress MU plugin admin area.
If you are upgrading from RC-1 it is very important that you read the upgrade instructions as the installation and setup of BuddyPress has changed significantly.
If you’re installing BuddyPress for the first time, please follow the updated installation instructions.
We are now in the final stretch. Version 1.0 will be available within a week from today.

Will the final release include Photo Albums? Or when will Albums be available?

Whoohoo… keep up the good work guys.
I’ll be doing a full upgrade soon. Trying to set up my site I screwed lots of things up. But hey I learned a lot!
Looking forward for more updates and extra features.

Hey Andy,
Great work work with the new release of RC-2.
Question: I have installed WPMU 2.7.1, RC-2 and BBPress Alpha 6 all successfully, however I do not find a forum link on the buddypress-member template?
Thank You for All Your Hard Work!

I created Japanese translation of BuddyPress 1.0-RC2. How can I add the po/mo file to the project?
The translated file is currently disctibuted at SourceForge.JP:

Very cool!
I’m moving over an existing site. After some frustrations I’ve now found plugins for most of the customization I needed, including very unexpectedly this one – keeping fingers crossed…
Timing is perfect. By next week I should have template/CSS etc. sorted out, ready to move to a cutting edge platform!
Happy! Congratulations Andy Peatling and BuddyPress team!

I would like to use this but on buddypress I would like as community site where user’s can have own diffrent blog/website. So, here blog section will be updated automatically from theirs blog/site’s rss.

I installed WPMU 2.7.1 and then BP 1.0 RC-2, but nothing happens.
Neither ‘themes’ no ‘appearance’ shows BP RC2 is installed.
Further, plugins show “You do not appear to have any plugins available at this time”.
It obviously is not as easy as you have mentioned.
Andy Peatling said on April 27, 2009
@Maythil If you follow the instructions it should work as expected.
