I’d love to see other BP sites that have implemented Achievements. I’m looking for the best names to use for the Achievements on my site and I’d love to get some inspiration from other sites that are using it.

Here’s the one that I know that uses it:

    Any other sites use Achievements?

This isn’t BuddyPress, but it’s a good inspiration for Achievements: http://thekruser.com/foursquare/badges Thanks @modemlooper for pointing it out.

Linked to twice! the site admin will backtrace here and wonder if we’re trying to encourage his badges be ‘Borrowed’ :)

http://icons.mysitemyway.com/ in keeping with the double trouble theme! browsing through these and thinking of what actions are available you can begin coming up with your first set of achievements.

They are not that persons badges they are the official foursquare badges. It’s just an archive of foursquare badges.

He’ll like the traffic. Especially since they’re FourSquare’s badges and not that sites. I wonder how the FourSquare badges are licensed.

Thanks for the link @nahummadrid Very helpful!

I know of one very big site which will launch in the next month or so, and a much smaller but totally different type of site for a UK company, both using Achievements. I’m not up-to-date with when the latter will launch.

I’m also seeing quite a lot of interest and questions from lots of other people, so hopefully there will be a lot of websites of all sizes using it soon. I still need to do much, much better in selling the idea behind the product, but I’m learning as I go :)

Thanks @Ezeke I appreciate you sharing your implementation. Your site definitely has some good ideas for naming.

How did you get the icons you used? Did you develop them yourself or get them somewhere?

@crashutah looks like they used icons from that link i mentioned above, hehe.

I have it running on my site, but am a long way off having full implemented it or even having an audience. http://aflspace.com/achievements

I don’t know about others, but I find the images hardest! ;-)

Thanks all for starting this and chiming in. I am interested in any games on BP but especially if they use Achievements.

@markhahnel has it running (and recently took over the Leaderboard : ) at http://www.science3point0.com/achievements

Thanks for the mention @brianglanz – As the site admin, id prefer not to be on the leaderboard, an update to exclude members may be nice?

  • Profile picture of Paul Gibbs Paul Gibbs said 1 year, 5 months ago:

@markhahnale, I want to do that soon, probably over the Christmas period.

http://www.operationhq.co.nz/, a site run by the New Zealand Defence Force, has launched. And it’s using Achievements, otherwise I wouldn’t be posting in this topic :)
