    I have been unable to figure out how to create multiple albums (as a member). Is this possible, and if so, what are the steps to do so? Is there a setting that the admin must set?

    Thanks,

    J

    They have been working on that for a year or so now, nobody is sure when or if this will be possible.

    @alanchrishughes As one of the developers on the project I beg to differ. :)

    @jman11 This feature will be available in 1.9

    Don’t be silly.

    We’ve had a working demo with multiple album capability posted on our Google Code site for over six months.

    @jman11

    Feel free to grab a copy here and try it out. (Note: it’s not ready to use on a production website yet).

    Thanks!

    Just because I can jump out of a window and fly through the air for a few seconds doesn’t mean I am capable of flying.

    @alanchrishughes what is the matter with you? this is the most ridiculous trolling attempt I’ve ever seen. these guys are working day and night like crazy, unless you are a paying customer, you should be grateful for whatever you get. oh, and by the way, what you get is awesome. and free. thank you guys for your efforts, cant wait to get 1.9 alpha!

    I’m not sure what trolling means. What would I or anybody else be paying for? If they actually put out a product that would be a different story.

    @alanchrishughes – Add me on Skype (my handle is “carl.roett”) …I’ll run you through the presentation we gave to one of our stakeholders on Wednesday. If you’re unconvinced after that, feel free to continue hatin’ on us .. :)

    @vizslah – Thanks for saying thanks! …be sure to check out all the new stuff we added to our Google Code site, and we’ve also published a WBS showing the status of different components on our Project Schedule page.

    We’re probably going to be adding a lot more stuff to our Google Code site this week.

    Thanks!

    I’m not trying to “hate” on you or the project, I just have heard more and more and more and more talk over the last year or so and it just seems like a bunch of hype. I hope I am wrong. For my sake I hope I am wrong because it all sounds great, not realistic, but great.

    PS: Stakeholders? Are you planning on selling copies of the plugin now?

  • Profile picture of foxly foxly said 10 months ago:

    @alanchrishughes

    Stakeholder = “somebody that contributes resources to the project”. In this case, a government agency that might pay the wages for a new grad to join our team as a coder.

    No, we’re not planning on selling copies of the plugin … :)

    @alanchrishughes Luckily, there are always people with “unrealistic” goals. Otherwise we’d still be living in caves, eating raw meat. :) innovation always seems unrealistic until it succeeds.

    I mean not realistic in the sense that they are claiming, “Currently serving millions of users on 15,000 different websites, we’re one of the most powerful, reliable, and best supported plugins ever created for BuddyPress,” even though they don’t even have a working plugin out yet.

    @alanchrishuges

    I’m pretty sure BP Album + is a working plugin?

  • Profile picture of foxly foxly said 9 months, 3 weeks ago:

    @alanchrishughes
    @vizslah

    Except we do have a plugin released, (get a copy here) And it’s on about 15,000 servers (you can verify here) , and if each of those servers had only 100 members, the plugin will be serving over 1.5 million users.
