    I’m new to buddypress and bp album. I’m having a hard time finding the info I need. Is it possible to have a page where all the images that have been uploaded display? So they wouldn’t have to go to an individual member’s album?

    TIA

    Welcome aboard.

    If you need it to work *now* your best option is to install version 0.1.8 http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-album/ and then use the hack in this post: http://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-album/forum/topic/latest-images-on-home-page/?topic_page=2&num=15

    If you’re working on a new site that doesn’t have to be online for 4 to 8 weeks, by far the best option would be to start with the 0.1.9 nightly build posted here: http://code.google.com/p/buddypress-media/downloads/list and then use the featured content template tags set, which is documented here: http://code.google.com/p/buddypress-media/wiki/UsingTheFeaturedContentLoop

    You must also take media types, ownership, and privacy settings into account when creating your template files. Although none of these are included in any documentation yet, we’re currently writing these features into the plugin. For more information, see these design documents:

    That video is hilarious. ;)

    Are you “guestimating” a 0.1.9 release within 4 weeks then?

    @paulhastings0

    I’m *guestimating* that we’ll reach a data model freeze within the next 4 weeks, meaning technically skilled (capable of editing source code and directly editing their SQL databases) users will be able to install 0.1.9 on a live site without losing uploaded data on future upgrades.

    This is an important step because these people are going to be doing all the beta testing. However, we need to get the code to a state where it will produce useful debugging info, and we need to get our bug reporting and docs to a state where they can handle the flood first …because based on the stats coming back to us, it’s going to get hundreds of downloads in the first 24 hours *just from the Google Code site*, and most of those users are probably going to log in and report bugs.

    We’re probably at least 8 weeks away from an actual “release” …as in something fully documented that other developers can start building on top of, and that’s safe for a typical WordPress site admin to install. 0.1.9 has to be *solid* before we release it through the WordPress plugin repository.

    The dev schedule (link: http://bit.ly/aUn5dZ ) is a “live” document and it changes almost every day, based on work that’s coming in from different clients …so keep checking on it for updates.
