Hey guys! Here’s your chance to help make BP-Media even better!

We’re getting ready to release version 0.1.8.6 THIS FRIDAY and we need some help translating it to as many languages as possible.

Making a translation is REALLY EASY and only takes a few minutes.

1) Download the translation file editor (poedit): http://sourceforge.net/projects/poedit/

2) Download the plugin translation file: http://code.google.com/p/buddypress-media/downloads/detail?name=bp-album-0.1.8.6-2010-12-18.po

3) Open it in poedit. Add your translation. Save it.

4) Done!

If a language says “IN PROGRESS”, “CONFIRMED”, or “FINISHED” we have a translator working on it and don’t need help. If a language says “UNCONFIRMED” we are trying to contact our previous translator to update the translation, but we might need your help. If a language says “TRANSLATOR WANTED” we do not have anyone to make the translation and really need your help.

Dear sirs I translate the latest version of the file (bp-album-0.1.8.6-2010-12-18.po) for the Portuguese of Brazil. I would like to contribute but do not know how to upload to the project. Another issue rename the file as bp-album-pt-BR.mo and the file bp-album-pt-BR.po put in the folder but still does not work. Would anyone know how I can fix it?

@Rigoni – you need to rename the files to “bp-album-pt_BR.mo” and “bp-album-pt_BR.po” you got a “-” confused with a “_”.

hi foxly … i upload the pb-media and activate the plugin … but i’m not able to change the language into german. can you please tell me, what i had to do to make things happen : )

You cannot change the language to German because we do not have a German translation for 0.1.8.7

Since you signed-up on the project tracker this morning, I have assigned you the German translation “user story”. Just upload your translation files to the story when you are done and one of the developers will add it to the plugin code. If you need any help, just post your questions on the user story. We will answer them right away.

hi foxly … ok i´ll try to make an german translation for the bp-album!

i allredy set up bp-album and media … both files crashes the sidebar on the right (gallery will be full wide and my sidebar is below .. thats not very pretty) … only the kultura file dont crashes the sidebar. am i the only one which this kind of problem. if you want to take a look i can send you my login and pass.

I don’t think you can install Kaltura and bp-album at the same time. I seem to remember Kaltura was doing something that made bp-album crash. To fix the problem, we had to deactivate Kaltura *and* delete the Kaltura plugin file directory.

hi foxly … thanks for your answer …. i dont have the kaltura plugin installed at the same time – i mean kaltura dont crashes the sidebar in my theme.
i´m sorry to say that album+ and media crashes the sidebar … if you want to see – i can send you my login, maybe it´s interesting for you.

i have the .po file translated into german – but i can´t save it as an .mo file … i´m new in wordpress and poedit – where can i post the file, so somebody can save this in a .mo file.

There is just a button in poedit that compiles it to a .mo file. If you’re having problems, post your .po file to the German Translation user story on the project tracker, and I’ll try to fix whatever is wrong with it.
