Ok, now it does not work even with your update @piermaria – I used the most recent buddypress update and am screwed right now, with all the profile data being public. PLEASE, can anyone help as soon as possible?

We have update the plugin to be compatible with wordpress 3.2.1 and Buddypress 1.2.9, now it also works with Multisite and has proper i18n.
Last but not least italian translation.
We would be glad to share this update with the community, where should we put the updated plugin, an is the author still following the development of it?

@TimCarey I used your solution but when I change the settings and save it it goes to page not found page. What could be the problem? I’d appreciate your help.

This plugin wa sn’t working with the new word press 3.1.1 and buddy press 1.2.8. The admin menu was not showing in the buddy press menu. Here’s how I fixed it. After my change this plugin is working great.

In the file labeled bp-profile-privacy-core.php I made the following two changes.

This plug and does not come up under the buddy press menu since 3.1.0 when do you plan on fixing this?

Do you have a plan to fix the plugin so that it is used with WP 3.1 and BP 1.2.8?

I’ve also added a new privacy level: To show a field only for logged in members. Anybody interested?
