  • I love the idea of BP Profile Search, and I choose my words very carefully. I have only two issues: 1.) I’d like the width of the BP Profile Search to be across the entire page, instead of just the right half. (http://www.cornerjams.com/members) 2.) It won’t work with my site! I tried each individual Filter Members List, but whenever I search…[Read more]

  • Hi, I have installed the plugin, and I think I have followed the instructions to the letter. Still when I run a member search all members are returned. I have tried all the 4 settings for the filter option, and nothing changes. I am using wp 3.2 and bp 1.2.9. Is there some way to check what is wrong with my system? Maybe it is it possible to put…[Read more]

  • installed the plugin, but it’s returning all users… Do you mean the advanced option filter right on the page where the drop down is ’last active, newly registered, alphabetical’? I tried changing those and no luck, still returns all users. If there is another options panel I’m missing please be specific on where I might find it. …[Read more]

  • Hey. Question. Currently the css for Bp Profile Search shows up as one long list. How can I make it so it\\’s in at least 3 columns or even two ?

    • Hi Gayatriom,

I’m working to a ’template’ system for this plugin, but it’s not ready yet. The present version is using the styles from the default BuddyPress theme, so you can modify or add CSS rules to your theme style.css file.

  • Works brilliantly. Simple, clean. (3.1 and 2.8)

  • Great plugin! Works perfectly. I’m wondering if there’s a way to style the search fields – ie. rather than having them presented in a list, have the different search functions present as columns, so they don’t take up quite as much room on the page?

  • I am currently working on a page and was wondering if there is a way to list the profiles alphabetically via last name? I have been having some troubles with this. When I do it, it says that there are no members, but then I list by recently active and the list shows up. All I want is to have the list of profiles show up alphabetically via last…[Read more]

  • Excellent plugin – does exactly what i need it to, except… Is there any way to add the search form to the group members page too? ie. domain.com/groups/a-group-name/members as well as the default of domain.com/members I have done a little hacking around and managed to insert the form on the correct page, but it would still search the whole…[Read more]

    • Hi Edmin,

thank you for your suggestion, I’ll try to add that feature in the next plugin version. If you succeed before I do, please send me your patch!

  • Hi! I would love to use the Plugin. But I think there is a bug: At the Backend \\”Profile Search\\” linkes to domain.com/wp-admin/search-settings. But there is no page to show under this link. So what\\’s the correct link to the options page? Otherwise I can\\’t choose the Fields I want to use. Thank you, Andy! Greetings Philipp

    • If I remember correctly, there was something about re-naming the directory to a different one if you ran into that problem. Be sure to read the README.TXT file that came with that plugin. My guess is that the rename will solve the issue for you.

  • Hello! I like this plugin and are trying to use it on my site. The problem I have is that the output of the search is presented in the first column (of 3) and not in the center column. I use the Simple WP Community Theme 1.1 and latest BuddyPress Version 1.2.6. I have a widget presenting the latest active members in the first column and the…[Read more]

    • Hello Svante,

currently the plugin works by filtering the member list function and, to avoid filtering every member list on the page, it operates only once per page.

So I think you could edit your theme and move the sidebar div *after* the content div, so the members directory will be filtered and the widget will be left alone. Alternately you…[Read more]

  • Works great! Drop downs are auto populated with all of the correct selections so there’s no need for extra configuration!
