The installations instructions are not very clear for BP Multi Network, for instance,
deactivate BuddyPress on your sub network(s).
Edit your database and remove the bp- settings for the subnetwork […]

In my initial testing I was having trouble getting BP Multi Network, the name of the plugin you are referring to, to work. I will start from scratch again and run some more tests though..

Have you tried doing some logging/dumping to see where things are going awry? What happens when you dump the following:

`var_dump( $post_categories );
var_dump( $new_events_slug );
var_dump( $cat […]

Can you clarify what you’re trying to do, and the ways in which what you’ve written are falling short? I take it that the ”two categories” is *not* what you want?
