BuddyPress

I’m sorry to post here – so late… I’m getting quite desperate. I’ve not used buddypress before, or wordpress – so the learning curve over the last week has been magnificently steep.

I’m desperately trying to find a way of authenticating / moderating users – so that when they sign up an admin has to approve their access.

I’ve tried a dozen plugins – none work…. all break with the latest buddypress… stress levels are through the roof. I was made redundant a few months ago, and this is basically a trial site (they’re gonna use it with a client) to see if I’ll get a job… so the pressure is on.

I’ve seen the welcome pack plugin which looks awesome

I see it has stuff in there to change who receives the authentication email… is it possible to divert that email to an admin? I wish I knew what I was doing.. have spent several hours trying to find a solution – think I’ve exhausted all the possibilities.. really sorry…

No, Welcome Pack doesn’t offer that option.

Thanks. Do you know of anything that does… even its hacky? I’m very, very desperate. I’ve scoured the forums – tried every plugin under the sun… but nothing works…

Even if I can just intercept the email – and direct it to the admin, and replace the text on the thankyou page to say “An admin will approve you” or something like that…

And a ton of people in exactly the same boat as me… glad to know I’m not alone … wish I knew php and all that stuff…
