Hi All,
That latest iteration of group documents is here and it has categories! Some sort of organization has been an oft-requested feature, and I think this turned out pretty nice.

Also of note: There is now the ability to restrict document uploads to group moderators. This can be set at the site-level or group level.

I had a couple bugs reports emailed to me, I should be able to get to them this weekend. Stay tuned, I’ll mark it stable soon.

Selected categories in admin

Tried to add something as a user

but when I click submit (button is above categories field) it always pops up a message

You must select a file to upload!

works fine when you de-select categories in admin

Sounds like I need to do some more cross-browser checking. The Submit button certainly should not be above the categories!

now submit is under the category box

Peter – just a UI recommendation…

I think it would be helpful to have the “Upload a new document” button (and subsequent form) appear at the top of the list of documents, rather than the current placement below the list. As the list of documents grows, users will need to scroll down until they see there is an option for them to actually upload a doc.

Sorry this has taken so long, I’ve had trouble duplicating some of the bugs I’ve found, and I’ve also run into some issues with the wp3.0 beta. Turns out some of the 2.9 Taxonomy API simply doesn’t work in the new version, which is quite frustrating. More new soon, I promise.

Peter you may already know this but: under mange plugins, Group Documents shows up as Network Only with a Network Activate option. I’m not sure if this is by design? I don’t think this plugin needs to be activated site wide? I’m using 3.0beta1 MS upgraded from WPMU 2.9.2, BP installed on a secondary blog. You may already have a fix for this.
