Removing options from the member single page and the groups page

Hi there. I want to be able to remove options from these pages. For instance, I’ve put all the profile information next to the picture on the member single page and thus don’t need the “profile” tab underneath anymore.
Also on the groups page I have different types of groups. Some groups I don’t want to show the members list. How can I remove this option from the options list?
