    Hi Folks,

I’ve mentioned this in another thread here Upgraded to 1.2.4 and now No Blogs Showing!. Although the folks were really helpful about the ‘Blogs disappearing’ and other issues which I was able to fix and are now also fixed in BP .1.2.4.1, I have had no luck trying to fix these Group and Member Widgets/Avatar/Links issues in User Blogs…so I thought it try starting a separate thread.

    This is what I’m using:

    WPMU 2.9.2 on Linux Server

BP 1.2.4 (Thanks to the help of the folks in the above-mentioned thread, I was able to fix the disappearing Blog and admin bar issues prior to today’s release of BP 1.2.4.1. So I won’t update again just yet until I get the Widget/Avatar/Link problems mentioned here fixed, or if someone can confirm that these issues have also been addressed in 1.2.4.1. )

    Template – BP Scholar 1.2.3

    The Issues:

Here’s what I put in the other thread – “Re: User Blogs – Groups Widgets – No avatars. According to Firebug, default avatar blanks are being retrieved from Gravatar.com instead of actual group-avatars from the internal folder ‘group-avatars’. Also none of the links ‘Newest’, ‘Active’ or ‘Popular’ work. They all return a 404 Error. I re-saved the ‘Permalinks’ pages for the individual Blogs which often helps with other 404s but alas, not these ones. Individual Group Name Links work ok though.

User Blogs – Members Widgets – Shows avatars ok but has the same issues with ‘Newest’, ‘Active and ‘Popular’ links returning a 404 Error.

Primary Blog – Everything seems to work fine there. All Group Avatars appear where they should (including in the Groups Widget), and ‘Active’, ‘Popular’ and ‘Newest’ links work ok too.”

Research I have done (as yet to no avail):

http://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/bp-1-2-4-custom-bp_avatar_url-change/ – this one is specific to Custom Avatars on Sub-blogs installs of BP and WP standalone versions. I did not apply to my issues.

http://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2400 (and the links leading from it) – didn’t find a solution here either

http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/13483 – there may be something in here, but to me it is unclear, my coding skills are ‘basic survival level’ and I’m reluctant to pulling core files apart to experiment…even on my test-site.

I hope that someone is able to specifically assist me to resolve these issues. I really like BuddyPress…but I am really just a ‘user’…I know enough about coding to survive, but I’m not a coder/programmer.

    Many thanks in advance…

Same problem here, only gravatars show, not local avatars http://baseballpastandpresent.com after upgrade to bp 1.2.4.1. Local avatars appear on main blog http://sportsblognet.com, but not single blogs

This is fixed in the 1.2 branch of code and will be fixed in 1.2.5.
