I will be inheriting an existing buddypress install that has over 1500 users. We want to enable the ability for each member to have a blog if they choose so we will need to alter the current install to use Multi site. My question is will this allow us to have the members setup their blogs without much trouble? I’ve done a few searches and I can’t find any reference to this particular situation.

    Yes.

I can confirm this is working very well, as I’ve got a local test with BuddyPress running on a Network enabled WordPress, and it’s all working great. On top of that, with only medium technical savvy (no programming, just as-instructed config stuff) I’ve successfully moved my BuddyPress install to a secondary blog, i.e. example.org/hub, thanks to the tutorial by the fitting name, Install BuddyPress on a secondary blog.

I am also curious about this, however “Install BuddyPress on a secondary blog” don’t seem to answer the question, and “Yes” answers the question without an explanation or instructions.

    Thanks

I just did a little digging and found this:

    I hope this helps.

Thank you sjshaw361 for the link. We have a dev staging server so we’ll try it there first, I just was hoping to get a heads up on what I was in for.
