[Resolved] Display name remains as username even though the changes were saved (3 posts)

    I’m running WP 3.3 and BP 1.5.2 and whenever i try to change my display name via my profile page it keeps resetting to my username (or doesn’t change at all) even though it says that the changes were successfully saved. It just started doing this and i don’t know what i might have done to make this happen.
    Any ideas?

    I just changed my display name directly in the database, which worked, but as soon as i try to change it again via my profile edit page it resets back to my username. Actually, it rather seems to reset to the “user_nicename” since it’s my username but with only small letters.

    Never mind. It’s apparently due to the fact that i had changed the name of the default “Name” profile field. Got that from here: http://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/username-display-name-problem/
