I don’t update. Is this a bad thing?

Hello, I have a question. I use buddypress, and everything is working picture perfect right now. But I choose not to update because I have a massive amount of custom code and settings that I will lose if I upgrade… And buddypress 1.2.6 and higher causes me a TON of problems….

    I am still at 1.2.5.

Is it bad that I don’t update??

To me, it depends on if you’ve updated WordPress or not. The last couple small releases were critical security upgrades.

I agree 100%, I always upgrade wordpress. I always use latest version.

With BP in it’s relative infancy regards development you will suffer from not upgrading as things change and move forward at a pace in early development cycles there were many changes in the 1.2.6 release and a good deal were improvements to the way things work or simply out and out bug fixes for issues, I sympathise though where one has a lot of custom work in place as upgrading can be a minor nightmare.
