Users in WP users table but not in BP table…?

I am running a multisite with BP have uploaded over 5000 users through a batch create plugin. the users have made it to the users WP database table but not the BP users table – and in fact, only about 400 of them actually appear in the admin user area of WP. the data looks clean, nothing seems to be different about those records that show from those that do not show. Any suggestions on what to do?
