    Hi everyone,

I’m sorry if this is a really basic question — I don’t have very much experience with WordPress or BuddyPress. I’m trying to install BuddyPress on my basically blank WordPress site (it just has a basic theme right now), but whenever I install the plugin, a white page loads up and I can no longer access the dashboard. If I go to the site’s homepage it has me registered as logged-in but there is no way to access the panel (going directly to wp-admin just takes me back to the homepage).

I have pretty permalinks enabled, and my server has all of the BuddyPress requirements. Can anyone help me with this?

I read somewhere that buddypress can only work if you have network enabled on your wordpress as buddypress plugins activates as network try that see if it solves your problem.

Hi. I have a same problem, and I can’t get it fixed. Has anybody else had these problems? How do I make network enabled?

BuddyPress works in single site mode. The only time you want multisite or network is if you want to allow your members to create blogs.

If that’s the case, deactivate BuddyPress. Then follow steps to create a network here – http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network. Then double-check your WordPress is working as it should before installing BuddyPress – http://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/before-installing/
