Dummy-proofing Buddypress so people return after activation

    @pjnu

    I installed BuddyPress for a company’s intranet and noticed a lot of people complained the site was difficult to use. Baffled, I embedded a slideshare.net walkthrough on the start page which helped people get going, but some complained it was too lengthy. BuddyPress is super easy, but there are tech laggards out there.

    How have you improved the BuddyPress default theme to help users get on board, update profile and notification settings, and start participating in discussions? Did you add helper text on your pages or create tutorial video? If you have examples of “getting started” guides for your community, please share here. Thank you.
