BuddyPress

This may be a simple problem, however I’ve been looking around forever for a solution but can’t seem to find one.

I’m building a site for an international group – some people will use the site in english others in french spanish and german. I want the user to be able to switch their language via the front end – in a widget or in the admin top bar for example. And a cookie should remember their settings.

i don’t need anything else, no multilingual blog postings, no google ajax translation (although that might be nice)

Do i have to code this myself or is there a simple solution out there?

i’ve tried BuddyPress Multilingual and it does not seem to work. it only translates 20% of the site.
