Paul, great plugin, keep up the good work, it is working really well on my site. I want to direct my users to their edit profile page once they log in for the first time. What URL do I use http://www.mydomain.com/???????

This would really work well, because I can tell my users that they will be redirected to the edit profile section in the welcome email, and this will help to ensure they continue to complete their profile details.

Ah. That is a bit tricky, because of course it needs to be dynamic on a per-user basis as BuddyPress doesn’t have a handy “example.com/myprofile” short link.

I’ll add this sort of thing in the next release; probably a week or two. Thanks for the idea Brent

Could probably incorporate Brajesh’s Redirect to Profile plugin in some manner:

Thanks r-a-y, I forgot about that, I had it installed at one point. It would rock to have this functionality with the welcome plugin in order to work in conjunction with the welcome email.

In the upcoming Welcome Pack 2.2 release, you’ll be able to put this sort of thing into the Start Page;

http://example.com/members/USERNAME/profile/

USERNAME will get automagically replaced with the new person’s username (see the “Help” tab in the top-right for more such things).
