gtn posted an update in the group Content Warning
Installed the plugin, and it did just what it says it does, but it also causes a big error message when you try and ”Favorite” something in the BP activity stream…
”Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter – headers already sent” at line 159 in the main.php
Hope this can be fixed!

I’m now using a Skysa toolbar, which integrates fine with BP, and offers a range of chat options.

Thank you so much for your incredibly speedy help with this (and I’m sorry not to have been able to provide you with better info from my end). I’ve not seen the error message anywhere else outside the media library popup so […]

I’ve installed the new version, which seems to work ok, although it’s still throwing up the same error messages during the installation process. Across the Media Library popup when you’re creating a new post, I’m getting […]

I’m having the same problems. I deactivated all other plugins apart from BuddyPress itself and went back to the default theme.Downloaded and nstalled the plugin again, and on the installation page, when I try to activate it I […]

gtn posted on the forum topic Static Front Page, Blog Link Doesn\'t Work in the group How-To and Troubleshooting:
I’m using the WP 3.0 (multisite) and the latest BuddyPress upgrade. I’m using the default BP theme, but one of the “colours” child versions. I want to have a static front page – the About page – but this (as mentioned above) effectively “kills” the ability to display the main domain blog; it’s still listed [...]

I think the ajax chat is ok, and it works well with groups in a BuddyPress install, giving each a dedicated chatroom. But the shoutbox is a bit weird, and tends to have a life of its own. If you want a FB clone, try http://www.arrowchat.com (it even has a Farmville plugin…aaaargh)…but it will cost [...]

There are some map plugins available, but I’ve not used them. As I understand it, there are plans to port the Ning app to BP in due course.

gtn posted on the forum topic Ning Group Photo Album on BP and Static User Profile Pages in the group How-To and Troubleshooting:
If you’re looking for a plugin which allows members to customize their profile pages in much the same way as Ning (but without the drag and drop of page elements) there is a premium Advanced Profiles plugin available from http://www.social-network-solutions.com/BuddyPress It’s built by the same team who’ve developed Member Map and Listings apps…[Read more]

Can anyone tell me if new members registering via Facebook receive welcome messages?
It appears that coming from FB they bypass some of the required aspects of registration (completing profile fields etc.)…and if they don’t get an automatic welcome message, I’ll need to start chasing this up with a personal message.

I was having the same issues, and I’m really pleased to hear a fix may be on the way. Having the button visible will make it much easier to use.

gtn reviewed the plugin WP-FB-AutoConnect:
I think this is a great plugin, and it’s already increasing the membership of my BP/WPMU.
My only concern is that users registering for the first time seem to be able to bypass the required fields on profiles (and I also seem to have one FB-created profile which just re-directs to the home page)

gtn posted on the forum topic Help! Member directory problems after 1.2.4 upgrade and then back to 1.2.3 in the group How-To and Troubleshooting:
I’ve fixed this. For whatever reason, the BP 1.2.4 install wasn’t completely overwritten. Everything is back to normal. I won’t be repeating the upgrade until I can be sure things will work as planned.

That happened on my site too – but I thought this was related to a Fatal Error I had with a key plugin. So maybe the two issues were separate….hmmm…..
