unfortunately have to conclude that, probably, it will be better for me to leave sidebar on its default place.
tried both of your methods:
1. using your codes + some css of default sidebar achieve widget near the left side of the header, but sidebar can not be extended to the content + sidebar acts strangely;
2. header background sticks to the left side, but content (sidebar too) still goes to the back of header (its previous position);
another thing would be whether will it be possible for me to change template for the home page, as I still want to use it (not static).
actually, before I started this topic, I’ve seen your link about widgetize in other post and already made one template.
As I understand you now, I have to add sidebar to the header – ok, but according to this tutorial sidebar/widget will appear on top/bottom of the header.
Maybe you could tell me how I can move it to the right side (on top of default sidebar). Do I have to add some css class?
as I said before, it doesn’t help, because these corrections pull sidebar up, but to back of the header, not over the header (in front)
thanks for reply, I do have my child theme, but my skills are not to good, I would say very bad.
Tried to achive this with sidebar padding, margins, etc…, but with such a method sidebar goes behind the header.
maybe there is some fast/easy way, which would work for all browsers?
thanks, I thought it is a question of WP, but if someone could point me on file in default WP+BP, it would really help.
@Dwenaus (IE8 BP 220.127.116.11 WP 3.0.1) group tag menu in admin bar is shown as empty cell, however links to the group tags (group page)..is it possible to fix this, or remove this menu completely?
@Roger Coathup @Modemlooper
It is tabbed sidebar and issue is that all available plugins (sidebartabs and so on) at wordpress.org do not work properly in BP…some show tabs + no widgets, some widgets + no tabs.
Manually it will be too hard for me, probably, will try to follow Jalien’s advice.
thanks @mercime, already found these links too. first works perfectly for me.
actually, it is quite hard for me to answer. I’m referring to widgets (categories, tags) that are native for WP+BP and which I want to use on my front page, not sidebar.
ok, I could ask in other way:
is it possible to use two shortcodes for categories dropdown and tags dropdown (for regular BP posts), which I could insert in my index.php?
I mean some functions call, so that I don’t have to install additional plugins.
actually issue re embeding live videos from other www is not solved yet, but if you want to embed sopcast or some other similar software, most of them have embeding codes where you just need to change the channel nr.
at the moment page is on the local host.
I’m running BP Default and in previous gPress map worked well.
Yes, I made 3 screen-shots, how can I send them to you?
Idea is that:
1. If I switch to SITE-WIDE OVER-RIDE settings, user still has access to them in frontend;
2. When user wants to choose his location for first time, map works well. But after saving his location map sticks to the left side and can not be moved to the center (it always jumps back to the left side – in geosettings not profile. profile works well).
Admin bar > My Account > Groups > Group Tags is shown as empty cell, however links to the group tags?
