I've been messing around with PHP for about 8 years, and have done pretty much nothing but Wordpress sites for the last 4 years. I love it, so I jumped at the chance to donate code to the Buddypress project. What else? Oh yeah, I play music (am I the only web developer in the world with a degree in jazz Studies? Thought so.) I'm married and have too many kids to count. Things I'm involved with online: - MyJournal: social networking, blogging and online showrooms for business - Performer: making JavaScript features even easier to use; add AJAX and more to your pages without writing a single line of JavaScript code - BeatsBase: blogging and free mix hosting (1gb per user!) for DJs - My blog: thoughts from InternetLand - projectGenie: free, open source, web-based project management software I've also started to write Wordpress plugins, mainly for Wordpress MU. The list is too long, and changes regularly, so check out the latest here: wordpress.org/extend/plugins/profile/mrwiblog.

@MrWiblog I love your theme preview plugin, I’m hoping to use it on my site at FavTrip.com – as soon as I can figure out how to allow users to create their own blogs!

@MrWiblog I installed your invite plugin to my buddypress. I am running the newest version of buddypress.
I installed, but do not see any form or link to an invite form anywhere on my profile. I have looked in the admin panel for a setting link, but only get the one to select the preselected settings and I see the one for the form.

Any help would be appreciated. Am I supposed to so something else after I install it and activate the plugin?

Additonally, I am using a templete that uses the similar layout as the default template.

@MrWiblog I just love Voucherpress. I do have one question…is it possible to restrict downloads to 1 per user?

    Cheers!

@MrWiblog or anyone else know what might be the problem (and how to fix it?)

In reply to - justbishop posted an update in the group Secure Invites : One more thing…I’ve noticed since I updated this morning that I can’t get to the settings or special users screens any more. I’m just getting the message ”Cannot load secure_invite_list.” I did the auto update through my admin panel first, but when I noticed the problem, I downloaded [...] · View

@MrWiblog, thanks so much for the answers! Cubepoints is, from what I’ve found, basically the leading points system for Wordpress/Buddypress. A few other plugins have been integrated into it, and I think that this plugin would be a great addition to that list!

The referral code is a great idea! That would work for my purposes (not as well as a per member referral URL, but anyway), and I’m willing to donate a bit if it’s something you could have an update for by August 1. I’m wanting to run a referral contest with my existing members for my site’s official launch, and this referral code idea would make it MUCH easier to get them involved w/o having to know anyone’s email address. Am I correct in thinking it would work sort of like person A’s unique code is 12345, they post that somewhere saying ”hey, go join this site, and enter this code!”, and whoever does so is credited to person A’s referral totals? That would totally work!

And one more question…is there a shortcode or template tag for adding the ”Best inviters by signups” chart to the front end for all to see? I could really use that, regardless of whether I get the invite code feature or not.

@MrWiblog Nice work :) , any idea when this plug-in will work with Multi-site enabled? Pretty important I would think! And certainly for my projects, I will only be able to make use of it if it can work with Multi-Site. :)

Integrating the points system with Cubepoints: I’ve never heard of Cubepoints before, so would have to investigate it.

Static URL for each member: I don’t think exactly what you ask for is possible, however it may be possible to have some kind of code that can be given away enabling people to register. A few people have asked for that functionality, I’ll be looking at it for a future version.

@lpapworth: when you upgrade to the latest version is your problem still happening?

Hello? @MrWiblog? Yet another question! This point system that’s included with the plugin…How would I get the points to display for the current logged in user? I have the form displaying on it’s own page, and would like to show a running list of the user’s referral stats on that page as well. Any way to show the sitewide stats on a page as well, so everyone can see who’s in the lead?

And again…any way to translate these points into Cubepoints points?

@MrWiblog I would like to see this evolved into something like invite only communities are using like (dribbble or forrst). So everyone would get a few invite codes to give out. Or is there anything else like that already?

Or @boonebgorges do you know something, since you’re the creator of the invites plugin.
