@MrMaz Mr. Maz,
Out of curiosity, has anyone on the development team given any thought to making buddypress a hub/spoke network of installations?
What I mean is along this idea:
1st – I install bp on my own system and create a personal site where I post about my activities, post pictures and video I have taken and music I listen to, keep track…[Read more] -

Did you click on the link in the admin page for Update Database? That is key.

Change the permission on the theme’s folder? Is there a .htaccess file in the theme’s folder? Consider deleting it or commenting out all the lines so it has no effect.

roydeanjr posted on the forum topic I could use some buddy press advice in the group How-To and Troubleshooting:
First, forums are generally part of a group. You cannot create forums outside of the group paradigm unless you install bbpress and integrate bbpress with wordpress. Generally you don’t install bbpress and buddypress because buddypress will take over bbpress when you turn on the forum component in buddypress. Second, if #1 is true then you [...]

roydeanjr reviewed the plugin Jet Event System for BuddyPress:
For an events plugin JetEventSystem is good. Good only because it is not perfect.
Great attributes of this plugin
1 – navigation capability when viewing events on a calendar2 – google map does work and is usable except for the get directions capability
3 – easy enough to apply css styles
Shortcomings of this plugin:
1 – recurring events…[Read more] -

I also wonder if you couldn’t write the code to respect the site_id similarly to code that enforces security. Where as in security you don’t show something if the user does not have access to it, you could do the same while checking the site_id a user is viewing; if the content does not belong [...]

Something that could help organized a large community is group hierarchy. Meaning large communities are made up of smaller communities and those are a community of groups and those are groups of even smaller groups. Using Boy Scouts as a metaphor, Boy Scouts of America is divided into Coucils; Councils are divided into Districts; Districts [...]

I, too, would love to have this. I settled on WP because of BPs promise to run in wpmu. That promise was inconsistent with the reason for installing wpmu and thus was misleading. I would hope that the description of bp be changed or the capability to respect the site_id of a multisite install would [...]

roydeanjr posted on the forum topic Multiple Budypress Networks, one install in the group Requests & Feedback:
Seems to me that ANY plugin, buddypress or otherwise, should have to respect the site_id designation in order to be WPMU or WP3.0 Network certified.
I installed WPMU and buddypress after reading that buddypress was wpmu compatible. Now we find that it really isn’t.
How far off is this capability?

Make absolutely sure the url set in the application is exactly the same as the url for your website. If it is not, then facebook will not be able to verify the website properly.
Also, make sure the APP ID is used rather than the API Key.

Not sure what exactly fixed this, but I for sure did the following and oauthcheck error no longer occurs: 1 – uninstalled wamp 2 – installed xampp 3 – reset all other web servers to different ports so xampp runs on 80 and 443 4 – open ports 80 and 443 through the windows firewall [...]
