@shanebp Thank you.
I could not find the first code but by delete the second code it work.
However on the Activity page in the status update I can still select a group in the Post in dropdown…
I’m trying to this again but on another blog. I can’t see the code in your previous post.
Could you repost the code I need to delete?
I’ve got it working on the default BP theme my adding the code to functions.php
It is however still not working on my child-theme.
It seems to work partly:
For example on a Members page it removed the Mentions tab. But I can still click ‘Public Message’ and use the mention function.
@hnla I have put the code in my functions.php of my Child Theme. Mentions are still enabled. Is there anything else I can try?
I still don’t understand why adding:
add_filter( ‘bp_activity_do_mentions’, ‘__return_false’ );
to bp-custom.php or functions.php doesn’t work.
This should complete disable mentions.
Anyone knows why this doesn’t work?
I’ve read this on: http://buddypress.org/2013/06/buddypress-1-8-beta1-is-now-available/
But it doesn’t work for me, can anyone help?
@ewebber Have you ever found a solution to this? I realize that when users register with WP-FB Autoconnect they won’t appear in the Members Directory…
@shanedp Apologies, you can contact me through firstname.lastname@example.org
Im looking to achieve this functionality as well… Did you solve it?
Thanks @mercime I was aware of the widget but I prefer to have the same userbase across the network. I’ve been trying to find the function you’ve mentioned in the BuddyDev forums, but unfortunately no luck…
Thanks @valuser – but I do not want to use this plugin as it requires another of 2 plugins, of which 1 is not being updated and the other is a paid plugin.
I was thinking of using http://buddydev.com/buddypress/introducing-buddypress-multi-network-plugin-create-multiple-separate-social-networks-on-a-single-buddypress-install/ but on standard install this plugin will separate users for each subsite..
I am using the plugin http://buddydev.com/plugins/buddypress-multi-network/ together with BP 1.6 (trunk). Would you know how to share user across the different networks (shared user table) but have separate groups, forums etc?
Resolved now. its the Akismet plugin causing this.
I’m having the exact same problem. Before this solution by @r-a-y worked:
But now it’s not working anymore. Any help would be much appreciated!
@billieTS I use the RSS of the activity stream and use an RSS to twitter streaming service to automatically tweet everything from your stream
Yes it works if you put the code in bp-custom.php
I am still having the above problem. Now running latest version of WP and BP. I tried deactivating all plugins but didnt resolve problem. Any other suggestions?
I did follow these instructions. The move went fine except for my “old” activities in the stream keep on redirecting to the wrong page..
Any advice on how to amend this?
