    @modemlooper i tried adding these variations in my Css and the search bar still shows could you tell me whats wrong with the code

    `group-dir-search {
    display: none !important;
    }`

    `div#group-dir-search.dir-search {
    display: none !important;
    }`

    ive tried quite a few things they work with firebug but not when i add it to css so not sure what im doing wrong

    @naijaping i must admit im blown away with your customisations on that link, how have you done it i would love to see some tutorials as ive been failing with buddypress since i installed it

    heres what im trying to change so any help would be awesome

    – Buddypress links ie profile settings etc on my own toolbar
    – 100×100 user avatar on my header which when clicked goes to users profile page
    – Fix spacing problems on buddypress members menu
    – On profile & group pages i would like to add a widget space on the right hand side of the avatar and recent update message
    – I use custom post types i. reviews, videos and articles i would love to add these on the profile page menu so it shows what they have been the author of
    – i would also love to allow each group to have a about page with an option to add thier own facebook,twitter,google+1,YouTube and Email stuff to show up as default icons

    I now its kinda cheeky but any help would be truely amazing, also what plugins do you use with buddypress, im gonna go now an try and add this notifications code :)

    yea ive noticed, the majority of plugins ive found have been abandoned and no longer work with the updates, and tbh even the ones from the buddypress team have been too, the bp albums plugin hasnt been updated in ages

    Thanks @Quint but i tried using extras and got this

    Fatal error: Class ‘BP_Group_Extension’ not found in /home/aboveand/public_html/AboveandBelow/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-groups-extras/bpge-loader.php on line 3

    so yea that no good, the albums should be fine ill work on that tomoz, and shabusha looks interesting but for 60 euros an 19 vat an you have to re purchase for any major updates is a bit to harsh for my price range

    App sumo currently has a offer on for the wpmu dev members plugin $9, this does that, even lets you restrict how many groups a person can create aswell as other awesome stuff

    Dont mean to be a dick like, but it is rather annoying having 2 buddypress options on the backend menu cos if you click you plugin settings then click any other native settings it goes to the new buddypress location and your settings arnt their,

    and as for the other thing it would be cool but buddypress should add that themselves, the new update was good but i doubt we will see another 1 for a year lol

    Simpler way is to install wordpress access control, this adds a option to every page to make it avalible to be viewable by only vistitors, logged in users and even has a age control on it, you can all set a redirect page incase somone types in the url as this will also remove any page which is hidden from the viewer type from the menu, check it out its awesome

    @naijaping how would you go about this by just adding it via the menu page in wp back end

    Plenty of plugins will do this, my personal favorite is white label branding ( available from codecanyon ) this helps you customise back end front end, admin bar and login page also has a role manger installed so its really handy

    Yeah i knew that already but it doesnt help much, i can set my menus so they only show up for logged in or logged out users, i was hoping to be able to add my profile links and maybe notifications which work for each user logged in so as they can go straight to there profile pages, inbox pages etc
