    I think you have right it’s not very important the home-seo-thing! but, I have yet a custom header.php in my theme, so maybe I’ll change the string… now you have reassured me, and try costs nothing ;)

    Boone, you’re right, thank you for your advice :)
    I’m working on, I saw there are a lot of differences in php… so I do rebuild also the template’s files(html/php) and not only the css…

    for ex. I have in my old theme a home.php file to override the home.php file it was in bp-sn-parent, but NOT in the new bp-default… I don’t know what I’ll do… :( maybe I’ll post a new thread here! ;)

    thank you to all again,
    ciao!

    thank you for your answers! :-)

    @zageek: Drupal seems a little to difficult for me…maybe modify something in wpmu is more easy…

    but I see the french “Le Monde” and yes you tell right about separate sections, he has 2 separates sites for “newspaper” and “blogs”…

    but mine is not a big big newspaper so maybe I can try wpmu also for the news section… maybe with some plugins etc.

    @Peter: I’m working on the homepage with html and css, now I’ll follow your advice and keep a look to indexes, and post pages. So the articles will be “posts”… or “pages”?

    Newspaper sites:

    I have found this and this…

    http://www.expressandstar.com/

    http://www.larchmontgazette.com/

    have you maybe some others links for some other “inspiration”?

    Because neither of these has the “last news” displayed on the front page like I would…

    Thank-you again, ciao! :-)

    A.

    P.S. maybe I’ll ask also on the wpmu forum…!

    Dear friends, I solved!

    I added like you said a functions.php file in my theme, only with this code:

    <?php

    /* Register my widget 4 column */

    register_sidebars( 1,

    array(

    ‘name’ => ‘zero-section’,

    ‘before_widget’ => ‘<div id=”%1$s” class=”widget %2$s”>’,

    ‘after_widget’ => ‘</div>’,

    ‘before_title’ => ‘<h2 class=”widgettitle”>’,

    ‘after_title’ => ‘</h2>’

    )

    );

    ?>

    ciao and thank you for your inputs and your help!

    I have tried in various ways this morning, but the new file functions.php don’t work … :-(

    First I tried with functions.php “child” identical to that in BP-sn-parent only pasted the piece of code you told me, but gave me error at the first “br” , because: “unaspected” “<” , it said …

    Then I tried to remove the “br” the but gave me a blank page.

    Then I tried with a file functions.php child only with the code that you gave me; it don’t work, you can see the code printed on the page of the site. (here… http://diogenesearch.net/)

    And when I add <?php in the first line and <? in the last gives me error.

    I do not know what can I do now…

    Where I go wrong? help me again, please …!

    thank you, thank you very much!

    Ciao :-)

    I’m sorry for the “readme”; but when the english is a foreign language all become more complicated and sometimes to read a simple readme can be difficult, and maybe a doubt stay in the mind still after reading…

    so the same for the many many tutorials on the net, I don’t know never if there was “à la page” or not etc. etc. (I guess it’s about this the DJPaul post…!).

    So, I thougt “we are buddies!! (John, it’s true!) and I asked my stupid, or not so stupid, question!

    Peace and love, my buddy’s friends!

    thank you so much for your helpful answers! :)

    and sorry for my english!

    ciao :-)

    hi to all the buddypress friends…:)

    I have a question…

    if I would make a 4 columns layout for buddypress, with this new architecture, I do make my change in the parent theme or in the child?

    I think I will need a “sidebar2.php” and 3 in the parent theme? Is it correct?

    sorry for the question, I don’t know if it is exactly on topic, but I found this news when I was on the point to start “my” bptheme…

    so, I hope in your help!

    Thank you! maybe also a link to start with a new bp layout?

    I’m a little lost…

    thank you again!

    ciao :-)

    alcina

    P.S. sorry also for my… “english”!!!
