Hi, sorry, I know you guys are busy… gentle nudge on the above? I still have IE users who are getting put into a WordPress error corner when they try to create a group. I just upgraded everything, so now I’m running the latest BP (with subversion revisions) and WPMU 2.8.5.2. Thanks!

Accidentally fixed this myself by deleting the bb-config.php file out of the root and reconfiguring the Forums Component. I think since the first time around I had to make the bb-config.php myself (it couldn’t auto-create it), there were invisible extra characters I couldn’t see that were mucking up the works.

    Yay!

Any luck with this? Still can’t create groups within BuddyPress, and those created in WPMU admin don’t show up.

I take it back. I can add groups from within wp-admin, but they don’t show up on the BP site. Is this an issue with this part of 1.1 not being ready yet? I also can’t get forum integration to work…when I try to navigate directly to my bbPress admin, it takes me to another install I did on a completely different domain. Weird.

Never mind. Wiped the old install out completely, started from scratch, and my base group is now there (and I can add others).

I’m having a similar problem. Just did a fresh install with WordPress MU 2.8.4a and the trunk version of BuddyPress 1.1. Also installed bbPress via the WP admin panel. Went through all the setups for BuddyPress (General, Components, Forums), but when I go to the Profile Field Setup it tells me I don’t have any groups. When I try to add one, it returns the message, “There was an error saving the group. Please try again.” If I try to add a group directly via the site, I get the message (in a big scary red bar), “There was an error saving group details, please try again.”

I noticed that the database only has one table with the wp_bp prepend (wp_bp_activity_user_activity_cached). Another install I did (based on WMU 2.8.2, BuddyPress 1.0.3, and current bbPress) resulted in a database with a gazillion wp_bp tables. Is that the problem, and if so, how do I get those tables? And if not…wassup? Having groups is kinda the point, after all.

Otherwise, I’m looking forward to skinning the new template framework (ONCE, rather than twice). Thanks for your patience with a relative BP newbie…:-)
