    @aronprins

    All I have to say about this: if you “try” their platform, make sure you have backups.

    It will ask you to convert your site to “their” structure and I don’t think it’ll be easy to revert back.

    I was a customer. I still have and use their products, but I guess I’ll have to look for another theme provider as they seem to have lost their midas-touch introducing this stuff.

    Cheers,
    Aron

    Hey @nfxpert @belle33 @itsart,

    If it is allowed for me to share my domain here, it is https://www.collectorplayingcards.com (running on BuddyBoss original theme (not Boss).

    If you look in the header section you can see my little resetCookie function in action.

    Like @r-a-y says, that is a “good enough” solution for now, or you could take him up on his trac ticket https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/7896/7896.01.patch 🙂

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers,
    Aron

    @aronprins

    So a quick fix is:

    add to <head> tags:

    <script>
    function clearCookie() {
    		jq.cookie( 'bp-activity-oldestpage', 1, {
    			path: '/'
    		} );
    }
    </script>

    And add onload=”clearCookie()” to your <body> tag… Total hack I know.

    Is this a BP bug?

    Cheers,
    Aron

    As this is the only bug preventing me from going live with this new site, I’ve spent the entire day messing around with it.

    For what it’s worth: the issue lies in the bp-activity-oldestpage cookie.

    Once I delete this individual cookie the page loads fine again. Once the page is reloaded the cookie reappears (as it should) but it doens’t seem to refresh properly.

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers,
    Aron

    Hey @dameronjg,

    Can you please provide some more details about your installation.
    What version of WP/BP, what plugins are enabled etc?

    A link to the site itself would also help.
    Cheers,
    Aron

    Hey @sigtric,

    When you’re on the menu’s page, hit the Screen Option on the top right.
    Check the BuddyPress checkbox and voila 😉

    Hope this helps!

    Hey @djsteveb,

    Thanks for your comment. Really appreciate the feedback, and couldnt agree more!
    First of all, im more then willing to make current themes BuddyPress compatible.

    Although they already are, the default style shipped with BP might not suit the users theme as much as they wanted. (Unfortunatly cause Theme Compatibility really rocks!)

    Regarding the user menu’s: with my latest theme(http://buddyflare.themebp.com) im considering building in a function that allows a user to disable the default menu and use the black sidebar menu instead with the new BuddyPress menu features. This should solve the menu problem you are talking about 😉

    BP-Media is a complete other story, but: Fixed it.
    After reading your comment I’ve decided to integrate special templates to match my theme so BP-Media is fully compatible with BuddyFlare!

    Hope this will help you in the future, and feel free to contact me via http://themebp.com if you need my help or want to discuss future themes!

    Cheers,
    Aron

    @bphelp
    But this has nothing to do with the bp-default theme? This is a theme that is based on twitter bootstrap customized to match with a buddypress site. It also works with WordPress that has no BP enabled…

    I feel that there are just a few really good themes for BuddyPress out there like BuddyBoss and recently InspireBook by rtCamp. Im looking to contribute to that list 😉

    Cheers,
    Aron

    Hey @bphelp,

    Thanks for your reply. Im completely aware of this, and even though ANY theme is now compatible with BuddyPress it would look like the basic BP theme that ships with the plugin. For full specific theme integration we’d still have to adjust that to match the theme right?

    Looking forward to your feedback! Thanks again 🙂

    Hey Joss!

    You might be interested in the Pro-Sites plugin, if you don’t already use that in your network.
    Via that plugin, you can set the bbPress plugin to nobody which disables it throughout the network except for you as super admin to activate/deactivate.

    Dane,
    Thanks for your thorough readthrough of the forums and knowing what to put in you posts ;). Welcome to BuddyPress!

    Unfortunatly this is currently not possible. To my knowledge the people of bbPress and BuddyPress ( a select few awesome peeps ) are making bbPress(.org) more compatible with BuddyPress which should enhance it’s features ( if you ask me… ).

    Checkout this plugin: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-topic-mover/

    Hey @karmatosed & @modemlooper,

    Once again thanks for the generous offer of support, you guys rock!

    Here’s a link to the gist: https://gist.github.com/4165936

    The // Recently Added part & // Liked Videos part is what i need to show on a buddypress profile page.

    I don’t need the profile fields page so ive used that one thus far.

    Cheers,

    Aron
