    @carpconnect

    So i would have to turn off group forums?

    If i have standard bbpress install in /forums will that allow group forums as well as normal layout?

    cheers

    This is something i was wondering about, the question i have is how to create this default blog?

    Do i have edit the new (copy of bp_members) or is this something that can be done via CP?

    cheers

    This is still not working for me?

    I have left the standard admin-bar.css in place.

    in bp-custom.php i have

    /* Admin Bar CSS */

    function my_admin_bar_css() {

    echo ‘<link href=”<?php bloginfo(‘template_url’); ?>/css/admin_bar.css” rel=”stylesheet” type=”text/css” media=”screen,projection” />’;

    }

    remove_action(‘wp_head’, ‘bp_core_admin_bar_css’, 1);

    add_action(‘wp_head’, ‘my_admin_bar_css’, 1);

    I have place my edited version of admin-bar.css into

    wp-content/bp-themes/mytheme_member/css/admin-bar.css

    this does not have any effect?

    All am doing is changing the menu colours.

    cheers

    What i do notice with this and would be nice to have is that if user add a picture it is not reflected on the main page ‘Site wide activity’!

    Would be nice to it know on main page when new images posted.

    hello ok i wish to do this but am not sure how best to set path to new admin-bar.css?

    Would i use full url – http://www.mysite.com etc or relative path?

    If relative is there a correct was to do this, ie using baseurl?

    I have new file in

    /wp-content/bp-themes/mytheme/css/admin-bar.css

    Hello and thanks for reply.

    I will create a custom theme but will still have the same issue with layout if copy content of base.css to sitewide.css!

    But will start another thread for that issue.

    As to the other thread, yes i did change the css but can’t for the life of me see how changing the colour will alter what font is used?

    I will mark other as resolved in that i now know why even if it is not to my liking.

    Ok found the problem, it was the sitewide css file.

    I had just copied over the content of base.css into sitewide.css and this was causing the problem.

    I had only changed one colour.

    I take i need to be more selective in what put in sitewide.css is it not possible to just copy base.css and edit that?

    I will try that on a fresh install on test server.

    If by other thread you mean the one below, i did respond.

    Ok i have update to new buddypress which i see changes the method used to set size.

    Ok i have worked out why they are different, the ‘Me’ and ‘My Tags’ menu text are just text whereas the additional menu text that appears when selecting edit profile are links.

    The menu text and links font are not the same, some people may be happy with this but personally i would prefer all text whether it heading or heading/link to be the same if it is in the same location, ie menu bar.

    It looks like this something i will have try and change by creating a new style, though would have preferred this to be part of BP.

    cheers

    Ok i have done the update and still have the issue in user profile ‘activity’ with profile image alignment?

    In edit profile the fonts are better but not perfect but still have the poor alignment with overlaps?

    Also extra profile fields align to left once then pass the left menu which is not pleasant to look at.

    Am i the only one getting these issues?

    Apart from the changing the Buddypress nav bar image and setting new size my css files are standard with default buddypress themes.

    This is on firefox on linux.

    cheers

    The themes are the default BBpress ones, the plugins i am running are

    BuddyPress

    BPContents

    Support

    Signup TOS

    Additional Privacy

    All in one SEO

    Simple Site maps

    Upgrades

    Invite

    I would not have thought these would have affected user profile layout?

    Will upgrade to new version and see how that goes.

    I can but should that really be needed?

    Would it not be best to make the themes are consistent!

    Umm, they are the themes i am using?

    If an intentional design decision then it is a poor one!
