  • @mercime – I am very sorry about the duplicate post. I tried to delete the other post (don’t know what I did wrong) when I wanted to create this one with more info. I am still unable to delete it but have edited it.
The forum search function is also not working for me.
The last thing I want to do is waste anyone’s time. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate any help, goviral

I have tried to delete this topic and edit it to show it was a mistake but it keeps showing up.
    Please ignore post.

I’m not sure if this is what you mean. I’m pretty new to BP myself but there is the “Who’s Online Avatars” widget that shows who’s currently online in the footer or sidebar by showing their avatar.

Or you can look at the post below that lists the code to display the current user when online.

    https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/hardcode-for-whos-online-avatar/

PS I haven’t tried the above code but I have the widget on my test site at:
    http://sst1.everythingeasternbeaches.com
    in the footer

Thanks so much for your help & sorry for duplicate entry.

    Cheers

I’d love to find out about this too. BuddyPress is awesome and would be fantastic in an app!

I’ve created a child theme & am using bp-default theme. Is there a way I could remove the comment under the Activity Feed? Or could I maybe change the “Comment” button to just a button that gets clicked (similar to “like” feature) and still counted?

Also, is there any way I can change other buttons/icons through the child theme?

    site is: http://sst1.everythingeasternbeaches.com

    Thanks in advance.

Oh, now I won’t feel so bad when I can’t find the search function.

    Thanks

Thanks for this info. Much appreciated. :-)

I’m wondering if it’s possible to customize the Comment button under the Activity feed as a thumbs up icon (keeping the comment counter) but just let people click on the thumbs up instead of comment.

This would make it very similar to a “like” button and would also allow the counting.

I am just not sure how to do this so if there is a developer who can help, please get in touch.
