I have WP 3.9.3 and BP 2.0.1 and this plugin didn’t work and i never got a reply from the author. I can’t find anything else out there. Seems a very basic feature to see the latest activity pushed to the top of the activity loop. Also can’t find a plugin that will work properly.
Any fresh ideas out there???? PLEASE help!
    Thanks.

I have also been looking for something like this. Can’t find anything that will allow you have a widget or the main activity loop to bump the most recent comment to the top. There has to be something out there. Any ideas please help, I have seen many requests for this.

Hello @danbp, I am looking at the solution you provided and trying to work with the instructions.
I’m still new to PHP and can’t find the .singular body class in the theme’s function.php file that is mentioned in the instructions.
Not sure what to look for.
Can you point me in the right direction?
    Thanks

@danbp thanks for the tip. That activity sticky gives me another option to enhance the site, but I still need to have the ability to have new activity on past updates/posts bump to the top of the activity stream.

The only plugin that seems to do everything we need is
But it hasn’t been updated since 2011 and after testing it doesn’t work on my site.

I see many others who are asking for the same thing so not sure why there is nothing else available.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Thanks for your input.

Hi @rosyteddy I have been asking for the same thing. There was a perfect plugin but is no longer being updated so no longer works on bp 2.0.1.
Hoping someone is willing to help.

@tse11 so did you get it to work?

I installed it on wp 3.9.3 with bp 2.0.1.

I can’t find anything better out there. If yours is working then let me know and also what versions you are using. Right now I very much need the functionality of bumping the recent activity to the top. I will worry about the formatting later.

Also where did you add the code?

    Thanks for your feedback

Thanks, I tried that plugin but no joy. I read on his page that he stopped updating several years ago. It’s actually exactly what I am looking for. I’m not a coder so fixing it isn’t an option 🙁

OK so I am playing around with activity-loop.php and tried this >>

    <?php if ( bp_has_activities( bp_ajax_querystring( 'activity' ).'&action=activity_update,new_blog_post,new_blog_comment,new_activity_comment' ) ) : ?>

but there is no change. None of the comments for either blog or activity are displayed at the top of the activity stream. Any thoughts??

Also is there a way to refresh after xx seconds?

    Thanks

@modemlooper Hi George, I have your BBG Custom BP Visibility plugin installed but since this will be a new feature on BP 1.7 do I need to deactivate the plugin to avoid a conflict?

Also I have BP 1.6.4 installed but am dying to have 1.7 up and running, any idea when that version will be available? I know I can download the beta version but since I’m not a code guru by any means I prefer to do a standard upgrade via the plugin menu then doing it manually.

    What are your thoughts?

Any luck with getting this feature to work? I tried the BBG Custom BP Visibility plugin as suggested in the beginning of this thread but it only works when the user changes it. If you try to make one of the choices like Admins Only as the default for all users then there is no effect.
There must be a solution out there, anybody??

Hello! Is there anyway to do this without a plugin?

Hello! I am looking for the exact same thing. Can anyone suggest this can be done?
The blog posts from the blog don’t show in the blog posts in the activity stream, so instead of finding a fix which seems to be very difficult since I haven’t found a furom post with the solution yet, I want to remove the blog post and blog comment activity completelty.

Hoping that someone can help us.

    Thanks.

Awesome, thank you for the great support that you provide.

I am trying to get away from using the top admin bar and having to go to the dashboard to access the posts, comments and media. So I was able to add the link within your file so that when you logged in you would see the link.

Below is some of the code I added to your bp-profile-menu.php menu structure between line 33 and 59 sub menu items.
    $items .= '<li id="menu-item" class="menu-item"><a href="http://thevillageblog.com/wp-admin/edit.php">My Articles</a></li>';

**NOTE: trying to include the code in this post but it shows as html instead of text. If you want I can email the code to you or is there another way to include code in a post and show it as text?

I tried the same concept using the menu panel instead but did not get the same effect. If you have a trick as to how to hide the links until the user has logged in then I would be very grateful. Otherwise the only thing I can think of is to edit your code again which i’d rather not do.

    Thanks again for your help.
