    problem “disappeared” after much deactivation/reactivation/cache clearing. can’t reproduce.

    Going through plugin the deactivate – activate loop. Looks like the culprit is UberMenu2 Mega Menu version 2.4.0.3.

    Still got some more testing to do. Will post back.

    Yes … “who can invite” has no radio button set.

    When it occurs … just see the error message … can’t get to the next screen.

    Have deactivated an ancillary BP plugins, and deactivated and reactivated just Buddypress. No change, still receive “There was an error saving group details, please try again.”.

    Thanks. So I’m thinking I’ll change that “All Members” to say “Active Members” to avoid others getting confused like me :).

    having dug into this a little, I now realize that this is something that is more wp than bp.
