  • I would love threaded forum posts! I only use group forums, but it would be nice if you could reply to others in a topic not just the starter post. I know you can use the at mention, but not everyone knows or remembers to do that.

Ok I found out they are stored in the database. But he doesn’t think resetting that will help. I’ll have to be patient until the next update comes out soon. lol
But in the mean time is there anyway to have my suffusion theme run for my blog/front page and use a different theme like the bp default for JUST the bp pages (activity, groups ect.)? It’s not ideal but would at least put the functionality back up for my members…

@modemlooper I did here back from him, he’s to busy to help me fix the problem right now. :-( He’s working on the next version of the theme. I have no idea if it will fix my problems but I can only wait so long. As it is now my members can’t join groups or easily contact each other.
Very frustrating as I had the theme set up exactly the way I wanted. I wouldn’t have upgraded yet, except the theme said it had been updated for BP 1.5 as well as their pack.
It’s not the developer I’m upset with, he’s normally quick and great with help. I just don’t understand what’s causing the problem or how to fix it. I’ve also disabled ALL my plugins and it did not help.

I thought it might be something with the theme install. So I’ve tried to remove it completely as well as the child theme I was using. I deleted it using the WP theme delete and removed their bp pack. When I reinstall it all my custom css colors are still there. Since I reinstalled from the WP installer and not uploading my old files they shouldn’t be there….
Maybe the settings are stored in the database… But shouldn’t completely uninstalling the theme remove that?

I’m still trying to get this working no luck… I’ve also noticed that the “join group” and “leave group” buttons are missing from the groups… I have new members joining who can’t do anything until I can figure this out. :-( I did also deactivate all of my plugins and it didn’t help.

@karmatosed Yes I did and they are suppose to be compatible with BP 1.5. I’m running Suffusion theme 3.9.0 with their buddypack plugin. After updating it I rebuilt the files as they said to do, but it didn’t help.

It’s called BP Autologin on Activation. http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-autologin-on-activation/

No I haven’t touched the db.

I’m still trying to fix this and not heard back from the theme author yet. If anyone is able to help I’d really appreciate it!
If I switch to the default template the group creation works fine. If I activate my Suffusion theme it stops working on step 3. There is no avatar preview or upload choice. Clicking to the next option gives the error listed above.
I set up a WP install with 3.1 thinking that would solve the problem for now. It did at first, but then today the same problem started. I disabled all plugins and still had the same problem.
If you go back, then click the group directory your group is there and can be edited. But it’s creation doesn’t get posted to the activity stream because the setup is interrupted.

    My test site is testsite3.homestead-acres.com

I was able to get around this problem by installing a login on activation mod. So far that’s working well.

I’m having the same problem. When I setup a test account then click on the activation email and try to log in it asks me for my activation key. If you do enter it from the email link you get an error. But either way you can move around the site fine.
I’m not understanding from the last post how to fix this. I’m using the Sidebar Login plugin, if anyone could tell me what to remove/change I’d appreciate it!
Or is there a way to have it auto redirect to the homepage after the activation link is clicked. That might also fix the problem?

I’ve been having issues with the search to. Doesn’t matter what you type in I always get sent to the home page.

Your right, if I change to the default theme the group creation works fine. I’m using the Suffusion theme. I posted on their forum and hope we can get this working again. :)

Thanks, I did set up a child theme. Although I still didn’t have any luck. I’ll keep playing with it, as I’d like to learn how it works. But I did finally find a theme I liked in the mean time.
