Duh, I just figured out I didn’t have “Anyone can register” checked under General Settings. Hopefully this will help someone else out!
Figured it out, for my purposes, I’m using the ScholarPress plugin, which makes it much easier. I actually created the multi-site setup and found it was far more than I wanted to maintain.
