@DJPaul – Thanks for your response. You and r-a-y are right, it is just a permissions problem. I locked things down too tight and just didn’t think that it would affect rss.

I will have find another way around it.

Oops…send me an email at murphygonzalez@gmail.com and I will give you access to my site (you don’t have to do this if you don’t want or need to).

Regardless, when I pull up the page it looks like the feed works ok. I am puzzled and I think that I am just missing something here….something simple.

@Rohan….just so you know…. I have a site that is password protected for a reason. It is a private community. But we want to have a blog to display news and events and we want a listing of that blogs entries on a side bar. If there is another way to do this…a better way please feel free to contribute.

What do you mean by “get the RSS feed from a ‘regular’ WP blog”?

Well if I get the RSS feed from a regular installation of wordpress then it works. Perhaps there is some setting that is locking out the RSS feed from the widget.

However, if you click on the link for the feed, it does show something. Take a peek at:

    r-a-y,

Thanks for your response. The RSS feed is at http://www.piptopia.com/tribe/news/feed/

What happens is that the widget doesn’t show up at all on the home page. And when I go back to edit the widget, it says this:

Error: could not find an RSS or ATOM feed at that URL.

However, if I get the RSS feed from a “regular” WP blog… it does work.

    Thanks for your response!

I will look further into the forum. I tried installing the BuddyBar but I couldn’t get it to work. I think part of my problem is that I didn’t do the deep integration deep enough. I am going to try it again.

I would love the theme too. It would be really really cool if bbPress was a plugin. That way you could integrate it with any theme right? How hard would it be to do this?
