I’m interested in doing the same thing as well on WP3. Have been roaming the internet for two days now and nothing has come up so far.

You might want to try the Maintenance Mode plugin at https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/maintenance-mode/

It loads fine for me with Mac OS X 10.5.8 and Safari 4.0.3, also in my own WPMU (2.8.4) install with the latest BP trunk (1696).

Thanks, mariusooms, for your reaction. I updated to the latest trunk with svn this morning. I’m using sub-domains and wpmu is located in my root. WPMU and BuddyPress both work as expected. I’ve activated forum setup and got the message “bbPress forum integration in BuddyPress has been set up correctly. If you are having problems you can re-install”. HOWEVER, no bb-config.php file has been placed at my root (or anywhere else except the dummy default location as far as I can tell).

When I try to create a group, the screen goes completely blank at “/members/admin/groups/create/step/group-settings” and I see a “”POST /members/admin/groups/create/step/group-settings HTTP/1.1″ 403” in my Apache log file. Is that a problem of access rights? As I said, I temporarily set my root to 777 before setting up the bbPress integration in BuddyPress.

Just reporting back. I seem to be the only one with this particular problem, and I’ll try to investigate some more.

Same here. I pulled everything from the subversion trunks:

    WPMU:

    – Checked out revision 1908.

    BuddyPress:

    – Checked out external at revision 148. (that would be bbPress I guess)

    – Checked out revision 279.

    – Checked out revision 2316.

    – Checked out revision 1629.

But I didn’t get a bb-config.php file in the root of my WPMU installation as expected (had set the root to chmod 777 before activating the BB Forums in BuddyPress).

In Component Setup of BuddyPress, bbPress Forums are enabled. When I go to Forums Setup it says “bbPress forum integration in BuddyPress has been set up correctly. If you are having problems you can re-install”, but it ends there, just like Mariusooms reported.

This is a local install on Mac OS X in /Library/Webserver/Documents. All the other stuff related to WPMU and BuddyPress works flawlessly (Thanks guys for such a easy setup procedure).

Would appreciate someone telling us what I’m missing.
