So in order to do that type of a set up, I need to install buddypress, update my cubepoints to the beta, install your pluggin, and then customize?

    • Tosh replied 13 years ago

Ya by default is says “awards” but you can change that to whatever you want. Mine is slightly customized for my site. You can disable parts of BuddyPress you don’t need as well.

Ok so … that’s basically … exactly what I want to do… except not trophies 🙂

well, the end game, is to set up multiple achievement levels for users, and show a fill scale with % completed to the next achievement. I’m also working to sub out the “rank” on the simple press forum, with the achievements earned… think xbox live achievement system …. then I could do different achievements for different things, like comments,…[Read more]

Well this is my site with the awards turned on with my Plugin. But I went the PlayStation Trophies route – http://www.ps3blog.net/members/xberserker/logs/awards/

I actually used that to get cubepoints integrated into the forum. I don’t have buddypress integrated into the site at this point no, do I need it integrated in order to use your pluggin?

    • Tosh replied 13 years ago

mmm not sure to be honest. Never tried it without BuddyPress. You just want the awards part of it? You could just use forum ranks/special forum ranks instead as well within simple:press forum.

I’m trying to integrate a point system into the forum, I have cubepoints installed and I have it configured to add points each new post in the forum, and topic creation. I’m probably going to have to turn of Disqus in order to give points for comments on posts etc.

Follow this on how on to add it to the simple press forum – http://blog.slyspyder.com/2010/04/25/integrate-cubepoints-into-simplepress-forum-wordpress/

So i can use that with a wordpress website with a simplepress forum?

    • Tosh replied 13 years ago

Yes, that’s what I do. I run the latest updates. WordPress 3.1, latest simple:press forum update. Works fine. But I don’t have network turned on within WordPress. But you’ll need CubePoints 3.0.4 Beta as well – http://cubepoints.com/forums/topic/cubepoints-214-beta-fix-for-wp3

      What’s your website URL?

@xberserker Hey Berserker, quick question I read that you developed a plugin to tie in achievements into simplepress… but I can’t seem to find it. Could you point me into the right direction?
