  • @ apeatling…Most do.

In any case…allowing the avatar to be changed would solve SOME problems.

But, I have a feeling that most people are not going to know their blog even has an avatar until they stumble upon the blog directory.

The admin should have the ability to set blog avatar options to “owner” by default, rather then some random tile.

My directory currently looks ugly with all the tiles…

    I’m all about options.

    @johnjames…mo problem at all :)

@johnjames…we are talking about blog avatars, and not group avatars….

There is NO WAY to change a blog avatar…so I believe it should be the user’s avatar.

Group avatars are fine…not talking about those…

Some of us still can’t see the widgets to add to the sidebar…check your site…

I thought it was silly to have blog Avatars….the avatars for the blog should be the blog owner’s avatar…

Thanks. A bit tired and wasn’t paying attention.

    Got it working.

    Thanks again…

    Thanks all!

    I agree.

the website TBD.com uses a wire as a forum…and it works awesome…Buddypress is right along those lines…now if we could quote others on the wire…BBpress wouldn’t be so much of a necessity :)

I think that options are key, and allowing the Admin to set a wire option, and then allowing each member to adjust their wire posts is a necessity.

I have a group that isn’t big, but uses the wire like a forum…and 6 posts is way too little :)

That worked. I didn’t change any of the template files in the upgrade…didn’t think I needed too :)

    Just upgrade…one problem…

I cannot change the Avatar of a group I am admin of…I get “Permission Denied.”

I can do everything else in the group as Admin.

    Thanks Chris.

Thanks. I tried that with no luck. Still can’t post from Buddy to BB.

I am all messed up. I have an htaccess in my main Buddy…do I need one also in BBpress? I put one in BBpress with “Options +MultiViews”, but that didn’t work. Then I put in the output from “http://maxbrawn.com/groupforum/bb-admin/rewrite-rules.php” and that didn’t work.

I am lost. When I put in an htacess in the BBpress directory with the output from rewrite rules it can’t find the forum.

Update…now I can find the forum…but it does not post from Buddy to forum…this is a train wreck :)

    My BBpress first topic reads…

    http://maxbrawn.com/groupforum/topic/your-first-topic

Should I change the custom structure in Buddy, or change the pretty permalink in BBpress? I am lost on this.

I changed both to numeric, but nothing happened. And how does this relate to the htaccess? I don’t see the link…

EDIT…I think I found a thread on this…working on it as we speak. Thanks for the help.
