I had the same problem, and after hours of playing with it the only solution was to disable all plugins, create the blog by using the dashboard create new blog,

The problem is one of the plugins – not pointing any figures at BP, doesn’t allow the sql to fire and create the tables in the database.

Once the blog is working, you may have errors floating about the screen but just ignore them till you have a theme activated for that new blog, and then turn on all the plugins back on.

Convoluted yes, but it works for me.

Small weekly 1 minute tricks and tips videos, not just on core bp things but also on using firebug to help change the css etc..

Upgrading from one bp version to the next and what to do when it goes wrong – I always dread it when I have to upgrade.

Themes and Bp-sn-parent folder – Things to remember such as you may change the css within one theme, but how does the bp-sn-parent fit in.

A snazzy promo video saying this is why you should be using BP rather than ning etc….

You almost have to do 2 different videos on each topic as your audience is either code masters or just hackers with a tiny bit of knowledge

rcmisa – looking at your website you are using the default theme, so the footer.php will be in wp-content/themes/bp-sn-parent.

I had the same problem, but I followed Davids advice and did this:

All plug-ins are disabled and I have a backup of my db too.

Went to phpmyadmin and in the table wp_sitemeta removed the values by clicking on the edit button from the 3 columns.

    wpmu_sitewide_plugins

    deactivated_sitewide_plugins

    active_sitewide_plugins

Then went to cpanel>mysqldatabases and repaired the database

Then went into my file manager (my site always has issues with cache) and removed any of the long cache folders in wp_content/cache

Went back to my dashboard, left the plugins menu and went back into it and enabled buddypress. Then enabled all the other plugins.

Some the steps I’m sure aren’t needed but it worked for me.

    Cold war fiction website.

Almost finished, just ironing out the differences between firefox and ie.

Once done will have a go at installing mediawiki too.

Comments on the theme would be great as not visually great at these things.

Thanks to Mike @ AvenueK9 as his template was the base for the site.

Doesn’t matter. Had a coffee and installed 0.9.0.5 instead of the 1.0-rc-3 and it worked like a charm.

    Hi Manoj,

How can you tell? I though the buddypress was installed correctly. It did take me 2 go and I was happy with it. I thought the next part was where the error was.

    Thanks,
