Thanks very much r-a-y for the advice and I will certainly pass this on to the DAP team as well to see what they think. I see you all over the forums so thanks again for all the work you and the BP team puts in for the rest of us.

I had a similar issue a week ago and was instructed to go the group admin page and click on Admin > Group Settings and then…

    1. Make sure you have the “Enable Discussion Forum” check box checked. (I’m sure you do but just in case).
    2. Now, uncheck the check box and click “Save Changes”
    3. Check the checkbox again and click “Save Changes” again.

I know it sounds crazy but this completely fixed my forums and people could start posting topics again immediately.

Hello Paul, just installed the plugin and it’s a great addition to BP so first off, thanks very much for the hard work on this and all the other BP work that you do. I’m running WP 2.9.2 and BP 1.2.4 and have a quick question for you. My new users are receiving the welcome message that I have configured but the subject and from user information is displayed in the body of the email along w/ the welcome message. I was expecting the email to be from the specific user I chose and the subject of the email to be from the “…with this subject” field but it was not. The email is from: <noreply @www.mywebsite.com and the subject of my email is: [Name of Blog] New message from Member User Name. Is this how it is supposed to be working? If so, I apologize for this message. Thanks very much for your time.

This would be a really great plugin. Has anyone heard anything about it’s progress? Thanks for your time.

Fantastic Plugin @blackphantom and thanks for all the hard work w/ an upcoming wedding scheduled and everything! I was having a hard time getting tweets from Twitter –> BP until I took the advice from a post to remove the filters that I had set up. I had “cooking, cook, recipe, recipes” in the “Filters (comma separated)” field and as soon as I removed that, the tweets from Twitter came in perfect. I also tried just having “cooking” in the field and that did not work either. Any words of advice to get the filters working? Can I provide any additional info for you to assist?

Agreed. I’m trying to hunt it down in the css so if anyone else has this solved already let me know and I’ll keep crunching away. As always, thanks to all for your help and to the BuddyPress team for such an awesome product.

    UPDATE:

On a suggestion from Sarah Gooding, I logged into the forum as the admin and double-checked that the group I was trying to post to had the “Enable discussion forum” checkbox checked. It did so I decided to uncheck it and save my settings which were confirmed. I then checked the “Enable discussion forum” box again and saved my settings and viola! It worked just as it should. Very strange but it worked. I can also post to other groups now that I did not create as well. I hope that this helps out.

Well Sarah Gooding, you are a saint in the making! This is interesting and your idea made this possible. I was logged into the forum as the admin and the group I was trying to post to had the “Enable discussion forum” checkbox checked so I decided to uncheck it and save my settings which were confirmed. I then checked the “Enable discussion forum” box again and saved my settings and viola! It worked just as it should. How odd (and cool at the same time:). I can also post to other groups now that I did not create as well. I wish I could explain why that is but at this point I am not questioning the answers. Thanks again to all and I’ll keep you posted if anything goes awry, but at this point I appear to be in business.

We are having the same issues as Avi M. I can create a forum topic as the main admin of the site, but I cannot post a topic to a group that I did not create and other members cannot create or post a topic to either theirs or other groups. I’ve read a bunch of threads but no luck yet. Any ideas? Thanks to all for your time.

Thanks for the quick reply rossagrant, unfortunately I’m still getting the dreaded “Sorry, there were no forum topics found.” when I try to post a topic to a forum. I’ve reinstalled once but I think I’ll try photodesign’s advice again and see what happens. I’ll keep you all posted if I have any luck and thanks again for your help.

rossagrant, can you clarify where you updated the default address to the absolute url? I went to both the BuddyPress > General settings and the Settings > General in my WP Admin but I’m not sure where to put the absolute url. I must be blind. Thanks for your help!

I am having this exact same problem. I am fluent in html and css but it doesn’t matter what I do to …mythemefolder/activity/index.php, none of the changes are displayed. I’m attempting to view my work by going to the nav bar at the top and choosing “My Account > Activity”. I feel like hkcharlie and myself are missing something as the instructions in Step Three are very straightforward and this should be really simple to implement. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your time.

That worked! I understand you all must be really frazzled right now w/ the current release so I really appreciate the quick responses. I’ll see if there are any residual effects that I can find by leaving that out and will report back to you if there are. Thanks very much again.

Hello johnjamesjacoby and thanks very much for your reply. Unfortunately I grabbed the new functions.php and placed it into my buddypress-home theme folder and I still have the same issue. (Again, just to test after this did not work, I tried the functions.php from my older template and it worked just fine). Just as a background, this install is from the latest RC1 combo download. Is there anything else I can tell you about my configuration to help with this? Thanks again very much for your time
