Hello.
During the last two months, I developed a plugin that allows you to create courses, quizzes (e_learning content), this plugin has a layer above buddypress.
So I need to know the function to add an activity in bp_activity table buddypress.

I am also experiencing this problem. It appears that BuddyPress does not load child themes – only the parent/template theme that the child theme references when the child theme is activated.

i am a beginner using Buddypress (default theme), everything was working fine and fully responsive on mobile phone and ipad but after i created a child theme just in order to change the width of the sidebar my website only show the header and menu bar on mobile phone.

i must have out some thing, hope someone can help. many thanks

I found the problem. I had written the contraction ‘aren’t’ instead of aren/t which rendered all of the code null.

Nothing like putting it away and coming back to it with fresh eyes.

Customizing the activity labels out of bp_activity_action()

Hi, I’m new to Buddypress. Was trying to build a child template. And wanted to customize the activity labels display.

For example:
“admin wrote a new post, ‘Sample Title’ 15 hours, 17 minutes ago.”

Is there a way to pull out the variables of the author, title, time so I can freely customize them?

What is in your `register.php` file?

Can you also check your server’s error log to see what the problem is? You can also turn `WP_DEBUG` temporarily on so you can view what the problem is:

Thank you for helping me!

I followed what you said – I had to make a folder for Buddy Press in my theme’s folder

so it looks like this
`/themandalaproject/wp-content/themes/d5-design-extend/buddypress/members/register.php
`
And I made the edits to the text in my editor.

But when I go to the page now it is just blank – the text is gone and the registration fields are gone.

Is your theme a child theme of bp-default?

If not, try copying `/plugins/buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/register.php` to your theme.

Make sure the directory structure stays the same.

So you should copy the template to:

`wp-content/themes/YOUR-THEME/buddypress/members/register.php`

Then open `register.php` in your editor and make your changes.

See if that works.
