I’m not caching, I am minifying some files, but I don’t think anyone else is having this issue, so its seems like a really odd one, I’ll have to have a dig around to see if I can find out anything else

The only thing I can think of at the moment is it could be a caching issue. If you have a caching plugin, try disabling it perhaps? Sorry for the late reply.

I am having an odd problem that seems to affect one person (or maybe more that haven’t said) This particular user cannot message anyone – it gives the error that they are not friends with them, even when they are. She says the only way she can message is if she replies to a message rather than creates a new one.

Have you come across this? Are there any other details I can give you that you think will help understand the issue?
Thanks
Emily

what about excluding certain IDs from receiving PMs at all?
From my point PMs to poor admin in big enough network will kill him, aspecially thousands of silly questions from newbies, when there is support forum.

is there already some build in function?

I understand that admin could not to reply, or decline friendship, but it will inhibit users from the network.

thanks.

How can do this with your plugin?

One thing to note: if the sender is trying to mass-PM a bunch of people and s/he’s not a friend of one of the recipients, the PM will automatically be blocked. This is a spam prevention measure.

Another thing is a user has a pending friendship with the recipient, the PM will not be sent until the recipient accepts the sender as a friend.

If your scenario doesn’t match either of these cases, let me know with specifics into the problem.

Today I’ve been thinking of times when I might want to allow a user to use a plugin to send a message to someone who may not have accepted their friend request. So, if you can think of a way for plugins to make individual exceptions that would be cool too.

In my case I want to allow users that referred someone to be able to send them a thank you PM regardless of whether the person who joined has accepted the friendship request or not. I guess I might be able to override your action call….hmmm.

Will make its way into the next release.

Right now your admin check is `if( $bp->loggedin_user->is_site_admin == 1 )`

This is great if your admin is sending a PM through the regular BP messaging interface. Unfortunately, this doesn’t cover when a plugin is sending a PM from the admin to a user. I’d suggest you add a check if $message_info->sender_id is a site admin and this will solve the problem. That way plugins can send from the site admin users without getting blocked by the plugin.

Hi r-a-y!

Love the plugin.. it stopped me from getting spammed by certain users.. the only problem is that now, I have a user who cannot send a message to another user even thought he is a friend. I told him to unfriend then re-friend but he still cannot send the message. He can send a message to me though.

Any idea what it might be or what I can do to fix it for him?

Thanks!
