Hi gang – If you’re a BuddyPress or WordPress developer, please read my recent post on the state of Ning and the Import From Ning BP plugin: http://teleogistic.net/2012/02/ning-nonsense-is-an-opportunity-for-wordpress-and-buddypress-developers/

As I say in the post, this is a great opportunity for BP devs to get some solid paying gigs, as well as to get some good publicity and future work for themselves. Please get in touch with me if you’re interested!

Hi..just discovered your ning migration plugin. I notice that it has not been updated of late. I am running the latest version of wp 3.3.1 w/ buddy press 1.5.3.1. Am working with merging a ning social networking site with 9000 members. Any advice? What about compatibility with wp 3.3.1. Would truly appreciate any input you can give me on a project of this size. Here are some additional questions:

1. Will the pluggin import the forum/chat postings?
2. The ning site has over 18,000 linkbacks..what happens to these?

Best regards!
Will

I’m having problem with your Ning importer. I had to take a CSV and convert it to JSON because I don’t actually have a Ning database.

I get this as the output:

600 times

My JSON data is @ http://aliner.towfowi.net/ning-members-local.json
