Hey ! neat plugin !

I’m trying to make it work so it doesn’t display the comment box by default. I found this line:

`// start the Loop
// show new comments in stream format
if (bp_has_activities( bp_ajax_querystring( ‘activity’ ) . ‘&display_comments=stream ))
`

I tried removing the ` . ‘&display_comments=stream’ ` part or setting it to `none` but it still shows the box.

Could you take a look at this ?
Thanks !

Just uncovered this, while trying to tweak the Unified-Search on my site. When searching using Brajesh’s code/plugin (http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-global-unified-search/) the screen will freeze/slow/lock in the browswer when the activity is tried to “refresh”. Maybe this is because multiple items are show: activity/groups/forums, etc.

If possible, maybe the solution is to somehow exclude the search page with RS ReFresh plugin?

This is a great plugin, very useful. Although It has a big problem with it.

The activity will update on any activity stream on the site, even if it has nothing to do with the user (profile activity stream)

It will update blog comments on a group, and all other activities. It will do the same thing for an album picture, and this site-wide.

Hi, ive noticed when the activity refreshes, the previous activity post time doesn’t update. So it looks strange towards timing.

The plugin retrieve all new entries and prepend them to the list. So it would also add more messages.

Be careful, if you want use this plugin on high traffic websites. The javascript sends for each user every 10 seconds a request to the server. With ten users you have every second one request.
On our test server we had to change the refresh rate to 60 seconds. On our new server we have tested the plugin with 10 seconds and it works fine (with ~ 10 users).

This is very a nice plugin. So far it’s handling very well with single messages here and there. What happens in high traffic situations and lots of activity updates happening at once, how does the plugin handle that? I would think that would be a good case to also have a ajax notifier to refresh the page if more than 1-2 messages are happening at once.

Good job and thanks for this!
