it was patched in BP core a few years ago maybe this is something new which looks like the old thing or perhaps something got reverted inadvertently.
Responsiveness and AMP are actually sort of unrelated concepts any page/site that can have an AMP’ed version probably should have one (for optimal ranking) and it’s sort of the opposite idea of making a one page fits all situations notion that has made responsiveness a first order requirement in building sites these days (it’s like deja vu all over again).

so BP compatibility is probably a ways off at this point. Others may know more than me on this subject though. 🙂
Well any theme that i have bought for buddypress usage would be at least a year old (probably more) at this point and i not would generally recommend buying a theme that’s old since responsive design trends are still moving so fast. Sorry i cannot personally recommend anything but there are good ways to vet the newer themes as well.

the pages just need to exist and be selected on the pages tab of that admin screen for them bp to function properly. if you think the documentation could be more clear i believe you are allowed to edit it.

all existing users should be retained but their activity pior to buddypress activation is nonexistent so until they create some they might not show up everywhere.
did you add the fields in wp-admin?

something tells me he’s not going to have much luck with that email address…
so the moderator user role is actually a function of bbpress not buddypress so you may have more luck on that forum than here but have you run the the bbpress repair scripts?
hmm not sure think that’s above my pay grade might want to ask in the bbpress forums if nobody else here can help.
buddypress used to have its own group based forums now what you do is when you create the group there is an option to also create a forum topic. you can also associate an already existing forum using the manage option on the group page as an admin.
there’s no need actually the user list is the same (wordpress’) and buddypress does not have any forum functionality other than compatibility with what bbpress provides.

i hear ya, it does sound rather convoluted but i do know the best way to get the dev’s attention is in trac. in my experience they are a pretty understanding lot. 🙂

you need a plugin which provides the correct image through open graph meta data yoast seo works pretty good for that.
this is really a wordpress/xampp setup issue not a buddypress thing. i can’t really help you because i never had any trouble setting mine up and i use mac anyway but you might be able to get more eyeballs on your problem by using the support resources for wordpress and/or xampp since buddypress is a sort of baby universe compared to the larger wordpress universe which contains it there are far fewer people here then there are there.
sorry i don’t know any plugins or how to hack it but i think that would make a great feature suggestion for core if you can please add it to trac here:

port 21 is FTP port 22 is SFTP maybe thats the problem? those are settings in your ftp program not buddypress.
