BuddyPress.org

As soon as I upload gpress to my plugins folder (before even installing it), it causes any admin dashboard page to give me a 500 error. The only thing that fixed the error was when I deleted the gpress folder. Is there some server configuration or installation configuration for the plugin that I need to do to get it to upload and install error-free?
