Activation Error

    I have installed BuddyPress and BuddyPress ScholarPress Courseware. I have activated BuddyPress no problem but when I try and activate BuddyPress ScholarPress Courseware I get the following error

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_is_active() in /data03/****/public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-courseware/courseware.php on line 98

    Sorry forgot to add that I am running WP 3.2.1
    Apache version 2.2.20
    PHP version 5.2.17
    MySQL version 5.0.92-community

    Any help would be much appreciated as google normally the answer to all doesnt have a lot to go on

    Whats the BuddyPress version?
    Is it active?
