Activity Header not translated

    Hi

    I’ve just updated from a real old version of WP 3.1 to WP 3.4.2 and from BP 1.2.8 to BP 1.6.1

    So far everything is fine, however:

    My community is in german and english. Before updating, when I switched to german and posted an activity update, there was written “Slople hat ein Update gepostet” which means “Slople posted an update”.
    Now, after updating, the activity-header is always in english – everything else is german, buttons, links, everything ok…

    What did I forget?

    I just saw that part of the title is in fact translated, in german it writes:

    “Raphael just posted an update vor 5 Sekunden” (so the timestamp is in fact translated)…

    Did you update your translation file (.mo) for the latest version of BuddyPress?

    I thought so, yes, but aparently it wasn’t… it seems to work for now, however I was surprised to see that “German” has only about 50% of completion… will have too look how I can help with that.

    if I already have you in that topic :)

    Does the message-header always appear in the language in which the person writing it has been or is it possible to have them translated to the viewers language?
    In my case, I see f.e. “hans ist jetzt ein Mitglied” for a german person and “john is now a member” for an english person which is not so nice – me as a german visitor would like to have those titles always translated to MY language.
    I don’t know if it’s intended to work this way or if I just did (another) mistake :)

    The activity header message is saved to the database in the language that the site is using, when the activity was made.

    So no chance to get that translated to the users language? Or is there a plugin or something? Or any ideas on how to write one? I think that’d be much better the other way…

    Nope, it’s hardcoded into the database right now. Sorry.
