Add ”My profile” to nav?

Hi everyone. Sorry for the newbee question but I can’t seem to find an answer to that one less than two years old.

How would you add a “My profile” button to the header navigation bar? Please be as detailed as possible as I have almost no knowledge of coding.

Or use http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-profile-menu/ if you’re using bp-default or child theme of the BP Default theme.
